Meet Kassidy Jean Michael...
Kassidy Michael is from Manheim, PA and is ten years old. Her dad took her to her first race when she was five, when she decided that it looked like a lot of fun and she told him that she wanted to race. Of course dads eyes lit up, since he has been involved with racing since he was twelve and Kassidy also has several family members who currently race. So he said sure we can try this.
Kassidy is currently in her fifth year of Quarter Midget racing. Her hometrack (asphalt) is in Honeybrook, PA (DQMRC) where she competes in Jr. Honda where she currently leads in points and Lt. 160. She also races dirt at Linda's Speedway where she competes in SR Honda , LT 160, SR Stock and World Formula classes. She has also traveled to other tracks where she has raced.
She enjoys racing competively immensely and always remembers that its about having fun too. Kassidy won a Sponsor Cup as a Jr. Novice, has won many heats and features. Raced at Harrisburg dirt races where she won both Jr. Honda and Jr. Stock classes. At Motorama this year she finished fifth overall in Jr. Honda and 6th in Lt. 160. Her most memorable racing moment was winning her first States Race in Jr. Honda this May in Syracuse, New York. She also got the opportunity to race at Mini Indy for the Eastern Grands in 2010.
Racing is important to her, but she knows that school always comes first and that hard work and dedication pays off. Reading and Math are her favorite subjects. She also enjoys playing sports, soccer being her favorite which she plays all year round with PA Classics (a premiere team). Of course friends and family play a big part in her racing where she receives alot of support. Traveling to different tracks also gives her the opportunity to meet kids and their families.
Kassidy's future plans after Quarter Midgets is to continue racing but doesn't have any definite plans. She is very thankful to HyperRacing, Mike Dicely and especially to Chris Snyder. She also thanks Doug Michael of Hollinger's Sports N' Turf, Elite Energy Columbia, PA), HE Performance and HammerDown Engines for the awesome power. And of course mom and dad.
